Dinner Plate
These lace and beetle plates were inspired by the Victorian era. They had an obsession with details and a fascination with insects. I once read where their beautifully ornate homes also housed small creatures behind all the little details. This series of lace and beetle decoration stems from that story. The plates are created by hand in a dark clay body. Vintage lace is impressed into the clay and filled in with porcelain. Beetle is handprinted and detailed in porcelain. Top of the piece is then finished is a clear food safe glaze.
